Feedback from young stars, the molecular signature of shocks and outflows

چکیده
Why do we study shocks ? Because they are there. Shocks ubiquitous in the interstellar medium (ISM), where constitute a major source of energy injection, together with photons and cosmic rays (CRs). Galactic shocks, converging flows at basis formation molecular clouds filaments, examples shocks. Shock waves also generated during birth, life death stars form jets protostellar outflows, stellar winds supernovae supernova remnants (SNRs). Hence, route feedback on galaxies. As such, proficient tool to better understand cycle matter galaxies, but stars. In this review, I will describe recent advances that can be observed characterized IRAM instruments, emphasis outflows.

Spectroscopy of molecular hydrogen in outflows from young stars
We present new medium-resolution longslit spectra in the near-infrared and examine the excitation of molecular hydrogen across several outflows from young stars. In contrast to previous studies, in which the brightest patches in the flows were selected, we find evidence for variations in excitation with position within several sources. We present and comment on a number of H2 excitation mechani...
متن کاملParsec-scale molecular H2 outflows from young stars
Deep imaging in the 1-0 S(1) line of molecular hydrogen was used to search for parsec-scale molecular outflows in L1448, NGC 2071, and NGC 7129. Apart from seven parsecscale flows, 21 other, shorter molecular outflows were found. This means that on average 25% of the molecular flows are of parsec-scale length, with a variation from 17 to 50% in the three observed regions. For the 28 outflows, o...
متن کاملObservations of Outflows from Young Stars
Recent near-IR observations of Herbig-Haro (HH) jets and molecular outflows from very young, deeply embedded protostars are discussed. Proper motion measurements, and both lowand high-resolution spectroscopic studies reveal the excitation and kinematics of individual objects, which may be interpreted in terms of highvelocity bow shocks which sweep up and entrain ambient material to form molecul...
متن کاملHigh Resolution Imaging of Molecular Outflows in Massive Young Stars
We present high angular resolution observations toward two massive star forming regions IRAS 18264-1152 and IRAS 23151+5912 with the Plateau de Bure Interferometer (PdBI) in the SiO (J=2-1) and HCO (J=1-0) lines and at 1.3 mm and 3.4 mm continuum, and with the Very Large Array (VLA) in the NH3 (J,K)=(1,1), (2,2) lines. The NH3 (1,1) and (2,2) emission is detected toward IRAS 18264-1152 only. Fo...
متن کاملMolecular Outflows from Young Stellar Objects
We review some aspects of the bipolar molecular outflow phenomenon. In particular, we compare the morphological properties, energetics and velocity structures of outflows from high and low-mass protostars and investigate to what extent a common source model can explain outflows from sources of very different luminosities. Many flow properties, in particular the CO spatial and velocity structure...
